Incisor and Canine Restorations

Just as with human teeth, horse teeth can suffer from caries or ‘decay’, particularly secondary to tooth fracture. If this decay progresses to affect the pulp cavity where the blood vessels and nerves are, it can lead to a very painful apical (‘tooth root’) infection. If these are picked up early we can often do a incisor and canine restoration or ‘filling’ to halt the progression of the decay and help prevent a painful infection.
